...I became part of the St. Margaret's family through my wife and daughters who were involved in the GFS (Girls Friendly Society) who use the church hall at St. John's. First it was family services and then the annual nativity at St. Margaret's and soon I found myself going to most services. I gradually got more involved with the parish helping with the work parties and then feeling brave enough to join the readers list, I'll never forget my first reading - infront of the Bishop!!
When I got confirmed with my wife and eldest daughter at St. Margaret's it was a moment that defined the start of my growing faith and gave me a sense of belonging to a new family of very dear friends. I never would have believed that I would join a bible study group where we have great fun as well as developing and questioning our faith and recently to become a choir member. Being a Christian and being part of St. Margaret's is a major part of my life which I never want to lose, I enjoy helping and being involved but our church is a place where everyone is welcome regardless of their commitments - M.
