Welcome to St. Margaret's Church - Historic background - cont'd

After spending over £50,000 the church was re-dedicated on 2nd March 2003 by the Bishop of Bradwell, the Rt. Revd. Dr. Laurie Green. At this time under the direction of our resident archeologist, Dr. Rupert Chapman, parishioners also constructed land drains around the building to help cure a problem of rising damp.

The two statues in the church are of "St. Anne and St. Margaret of Antioch", the latter being presented to the church by Mrs Thomason (Bowers Hall), who saved her egg money to buy it. The hatchments are of the Bayley and Campbell families.

We have graves dating back to the late 18th century. There are two war graves and several rectors lie in the church/graveyard.
