2009 Patronal Festival

After lots of doubts that the festival would happen at all, everyone rallied round and our prayers were answered as it proved to be a great success, raising much needed funds.

We had reasonable weather although a bit on the windy side; we had to keep pegging gazebo's down and a number of rolls of gaffer tape were used for continual wind repairs but it stayed dry for most of the weekend.

As well as bringing in some money it also gave the parish a chance to socialise and chat, enjoying some wonderful home made cakes, ploughman lunches and cream teas. There were plenty of historic facts to digest and beautiful flower displays representing the church calendar. At the end of the first day some of us stayed on to enjoy a BBQ and each others company.

The weather was a little less kind on the Sunday and we had to abandon our coconut shy, we were hoping to get more children along to play the games we'd developed, however the photo treasure hunt went well with all ages taking part looking for matches all around the grounds and inside the church. All in all a lovely weekend - thanks to all who took part.
